The decision to reopen school this fall has been very difficult on everyone including you and your children. We all want school to reopen and do what we do best, teach kids! However, there are risks to reopening, and risks to not reopening, to the students and their families, to educators and their families, to the economy, and to the health of the broader community. This decision requires us select the “least bad” of multiple bad options. We get this one chance to reopen correctly and I want to do it well.
The Health District has provided directives which do not allow us to safely open school with kids in classrooms. Therefore, as you’ve heard, school will begin with remote learning. Over the next several days we will be sharing many details regarding reopening plans.
I appreciate your patience as we begin sharing those details. As you review those plans, please don’t hesitate to ask questions.
