CHILD FIND –Childfind is designed to screen birth – 5 year old children who may be in need of special education services.  Screenings are provided free to families.  Areas screened are: communication, motor, cognitive, social and self-help.  After a screening is completed a formal assessment may be recommended to determine eligibility for services in one or more of the developmental areas. In addition referrals may be made at any time by contacting Caprice Logan, Special Education  509-784-1333

If you wish to learn more about your child’s teachers’ training and credentials, we are happy to provide this information to you. At any time you can ask whether the teacher met state qualifications and certification requirements for the grade level and subject he/she is teaching, whether the teacher received an emergency or conditional certificate through which the state qualifications were waived, and what undergraduate or graduate degrees the teacher holds or majors.

 You can also ask about paraprofessionals working with your child in reading, writing, and mathematics. We can tell you whether your child receives help from a paraprofessional and whether he/ she meets state qualifications.

Como escuela Title I nosotros debemos reunir algunas nuevas reglas federales. Estas reglas le permiten a usted aprender mas acerca de los entrenamientos de los maestros/as de su hijo/a y méritos. Con gusto nosotros le podemos proveer esta información. En cualquier momento usted puede preguntar si la maestra/o reunió los requisitos estatales y requisitos de certificación para el nivel de grado y materia que el/ella esta enseñando, ya sea que la maestra/o haiga recibido un certificado de emergencia o condicional atravez del cual haigan sido suspendidos los requisitos estatales, y que títulos o especializaciones graduados o no graduados tiene el maestro/a.

Usted también puede preguntar acerca de las asistentes de maestra/o que están trabajando con su hijo/a en lectura, escritura, y matemáticas. Nosotros le podemos decir si su hijo/a recibe ayuda de una asistente de maestra y si el/ella reunió los requisitos estatales.
